More pictures from Emma's trip to LA

Emma's first trip to LA

At 7 weeks, Emma went on her first airplane ride. We went to LA to visit my family. She was a trooper on the plane ride to LA. We timed it perfectly that it was time for her to eat when we took off so her ears didn't bother her at all! She then fell asleep when we were descending and while I was nervous that she would wake up and scream because her ears couldn't pop she didn't make a peep. She was perfect.

Grandma picked us up from the airport, and we went home for lunch. Emma had a lot of visitors - her Great Grandparents were there, and her Aunt Deb and Grandpa all came home to see the little girl. She also met Gracie! Gracie liked having her around but she was glad when Emma left. Gracie is used to being the center of attention but with Emma around people paid attention to Emma and didn't play so much with Gracie. Monday night Berta came home and came right upstairs to meet Emma. She was so excited to finally meet her!

On Tuesday we went down to Long Beach to visit her Great Nana. It really was so great and cool that she was able to meet her Great Grandparents. It is nice to see all the generations come together. We then headed back to LA and she had some more visitors in the evening - my friends came over to meet her - Penni, Soleiman, Sam, Ashley and David.

On Wednesday we went to my office in LA and she met many of my co-workers. Wednesday night her Grandma threw her a big party so all her friends could meet the little girl. It was a beautiful party and we all enjoyed it. On Thursday my boss Alison came over to meet her and then Kirin came over for lunch. Thursday evening we went over to her Great Grandparents house and she met Marina too.

On Friday her Aunt Deb took her for most of the day while I got some "me" time. They went for a walk and both Emma and Deb enjoyed their time together. Friday night the family came over for dinner and everyone said their goodbyes. On Saturday we flew home. This time Emma fell asleep before takeoff and 10/15 mins into the flight she woke up and screamed the highest pitch scream I have ever heard from her! It was so sad but it only lasted about a minute. I was able to calm her down and I was very thankful for that. She then woke up a couple mins later and screamed but not as loud. I took her out of her car seat and held her. She fell right asleep and I held her for the rest of the flight. Both of us were happy when we got home because we missed Daddy very much!

The Divine Miss Em

Emma had a big weekend last week. Her Aunt Mer and Jason came to visit. And Tom and Buffy also came over to see the little girl. Em was on her best behavior and Jason even commented how she doesn't cry. Well, he is right that she doesn't really cry unless she wants FOOD!!! When she is hungry and really hungry she sure knows how to exercise her lungs.

We also attended our very first couples and baby dinner hosted by Stephanie, Michael and baby Louden. Louden is 6 weeks older than Emma. The other couple is Debi and Tim and their baby Spencer who is 3 weeks older than the divine Miss Em. It is really fun for all of us to get together because we are all in the same boat for feeding and the babies needing our attention. It was a great dinner party and we can't wait to host the one.

Emma has been making such wonderful cooing sounds. It is really fun to hear all the new ones. She also loves to smile and is most smiley in the morning when she sees us. It just melts our hearts when she has her great big smiles. :)

Emma is also tearing when she cries which is normal at this age. At first we thought her tear ducts might be blocked (so we put warm compresses on her eyes) but they aren't. Anyhow, we got some great pictures out of it!

Emma and Mom are off to LA next week to visit the great grandparents and to see friends and family. Michele is a bit nervous to fly with her but is thanking her lucky stars that it is such a short flight.
